Recently broken up and barely enduring a dreary winter, gay Parisian Jérôme Beaunez impulsively books a solo Christmas vacation to Los Angeles. While there he meets some colorful locals and pursues a dormant desire to become a movie star - but never can quite put the past behind him. In this meditation on love and narcissism across continents, Jérôme goes far in the sun-drenched City of Angels but ultimately arrives at an old Hollywood maxim: there's no place like home.

Likeable and funny,with some some serious issues and a charming central performance. Also features the delightful Chad Allen.

Not a bad movie. Some funny bits. Jerome, down after a break up and needing a change from the dull weather of Paris in the winter, leaves to become a star in Hollywood where he meets a drug dealer, a trangendered woman, a drag queen and various men who want nothing more than to sleep with him. In the end even though his career begins to take off, his love for Paris and his ex boyfriend win out. The only problem I had with this movie was the ending.

Missed this movie at the film festival I went to, and am glad I finally got to see it. The plot was interesting, and the use of black and white while in Paris, but color while in Hollywood was nice. One of the main flaws was I didn't feel much for the main character or cared what would happen with him. I understand he's supposed to be naive about Hollywood, but he just wasn't sympathetic enough either. However, I really liked almost every side character. There were all very colorful in their attitudes (whether they were kind or mean). I also think it painted L.A. in many realistic ways as both a positive and negative experience.

a young french guy goes to hollywood trying to make it there, with no real sence, and along way him being gay is also his focus, whilst meeting new people, a okay little drama, nothing to dramatic, but has a sence of what it wants to be

Funny story about a French visitor's visit to Hollywood and his desire to become an actor. Michael Airington stands out as drag queen Norma Desire, who takes the young gay man under her wing.
