This movie was EXACTLY what I expected and more!! The ending was hauntingly realistic, the special effects were great, and it was a perfect Halloween teen-slasher flick! The death order was also unpredictable which was great. Will definitely watch again! My two favorite things- horror and amusement parks combined into one. Genius!

A generous reading suggests that its vaguely feminist subtext is intentional rather than a happy accident, and to some extent it may well be, but for the most part Hell Fest simply adheres to long-established genre tropes.

Obviously critics are going to hate this film but I really enjoyed it! It doesn't do anything new but it certainly tells an entertaining story. I miss good slasher films and this was a nice refresher. It's not overly complicated and it doesn't have much of a story. It did rely on jump scares a little more than I would've liked but I think that they helped the suspense. I felt like the killer could have popped out at any moment and I found that fun! Sure your investment hinges on the fact that you have to suspend your belief but let's be realistic here. What movie doesn't? Horror is all about suspended belief and "What would you do in that circumstance scenarios." When was the last time you had a demonic nun chasing you around in the dark? If you like horror and want an eerie good time then give this a shot but if you're looking for something ultra realistic then maybe skip this and watch a documentary instead.

No, Hell Fest doesn't reinvent the genre, nor does it really add anything we haven't seen before; However it is a fun, 80's style throwback horror worth seeking out if you're in the mood for a fun flick to spend a friday/Saturday night watching. A few brutal kills, extremely well made set pieces and decent characters to root for make Hell Fest worth the ticket price.

At its best, Hell Fest makes inspired use of its amusement-park setting, but it ultimately counts for naught when the plotting is this threadbare and the characters this insipid.
