I was pleasantly surprised by Hellfest! It was filled with believable and actually quite good performances, genuine thrills, a few brutal kills, and great pacing. The setting was put to great use making for an overall well-done mix of fun, paranoia, and chaos. The killer himself was nothing to write home about but was pretty intimidating with his presence. Also, there was some iffy writing, and the ending was a bit on the "whatever" side. In the end, Hell Fest is by no means a masterpiece, but it did exactly what it needed to and did it consistently well throughout. I had a good time with it, and it made me feel the way I did as a kid watching the old "Halloween" slasher flicks.

Thankfully, Amy Forsyth, Taylor Reign Edwards and Bex Taylor-Klaus' performances overcome the shoddy writing, with the latter being an instant shot of energy (cast her in everything, please).

Obviously critics are going to hate this film but I really enjoyed it! It doesn't do anything new but it certainly tells an entertaining story. I miss good slasher films and this was a nice refresher. It's not overly complicated and it doesn't have much of a story. It did rely on jump scares a little more than I would've liked but I think that they helped the suspense. I felt like the killer could have popped out at any moment and I found that fun! Sure your investment hinges on the fact that you have to suspend your belief but let's be realistic here. What movie doesn't? Horror is all about suspended belief and "What would you do in that circumstance scenarios." When was the last time you had a demonic nun chasing you around in the dark? If you like horror and want an eerie good time then give this a shot but if you're looking for something ultra realistic then maybe skip this and watch a documentary instead.

I thought it's will be bad film, like typicall sequel for some of franchise like Hell raiser, but it's mfilm impressed me, if you want something new you must watch this!

i'm not much into slasher-type films, but this was good fun. The hellfest was very well staged and shot visually, and the characters in jeopardy were likable and well-acted.
