Hamoon (1990)

Hamoon's wife is leaving him. He is also unsuccessfully trying to finish his Ph.D. thesis. He is forced to reexamine his life. In a series of flashbacks and dreams, Hamoon tries to figure out what he did wrong.

Khosro Shakibai, one of the best Iranian actors, died at 64. He died of heart failure after liver cancer. God bless him. I never forget him.

Rating: 3.8-4/5. Just a wonderful film by Dariush Mehrijui. Terrific script, story telling, with exceptional acting by Khosro Shakibai. I am unsure if it is a masterpiece or not. It is definitely the best Iranian film I have seen so far, and a favorite, along with Kiarostami's Ten. A must watch!

(??? ????? ???? ??? ?? ????? ?? ?? ????????). ?? ?? ?? ??? ?? ???? ?? ???? ???? ????? ? ??? ?????? ?? ?????? ???. ?? ????? ???? ??? ???? ??? ?? ???? ???? ?? ???. A story about one guy's love life gone wrong, with lots of time shifts and a few weird scenes(one involving his boss turning into a samurai). It gets boring in some spots and a bit depressing in others. Not a feel good movie, but I've seen worse.
