Dito Tsintsadze's drama focuses on a loner whose life changes dramatically, when he gets to know a beautiful, but strange girl. Lukas, a young man doing "meals on wheels" instead of military service, doesn't have many friends and leads a boring life, until he meets Isabella. The fascinating girl soon becomes his best friend, but Lukas learns she has a sexual relationship to her stepfather. Thus, he is obsessed with the idea of delivering Isabella by killing the man..

This is a pretty typical crime comedy. Liam Neeson was actually quite good and Oliver Platt was very funny. Aside from that the acting was pretty average and there weren't a whole lot of laughs to be had. Sandra Bullok's character made almost no sense and probably shouldn't have existed. Her acting was her typical over-done moron character and it just didn't play that well with the movie. Still, Gun Shy had a few clever moments and some underlying intelligence to give it some sort of value. Just not very much.

This inane, confused comedy rambles in circles until the climax, where it all but disintegrates before my eyes.

Charles 'Charlie' Mayeaux is a DEA undercover agent who has infiltrated the mafia circles. Even though he is almost killed by an enraged mobster his superior officers believe his cover to be intact and send him on a money laundry operation. Charlie does not share their optimism, in fact he's scared shitless (literally) and becomes so mentally and physically unstable he seeks out psychiatric help while he continues working and waiting for the bad guys to look deep into his eyes, see who he really is and blow his brains out... Someone in Hollywood must have said "Let's make a movie about a DEA Agent and some mobsters, but let's make it weird... really weird." and the result is Gun Shy. This is a weird movie, it really is. On the plus side it is also quite funny, occasionally hilarious. "Wait a minute, even the bad guys are unhappy?" "That's depressing."
