Man goes to live with bears. Not a good idea. Terrible news that the guy was killed and I dont mean it the wrong way but-dont go and live with bears. Sounds like a good idea in theory but not really in the real world. So as a documentary its a bit of a strange one.

One of the most interesting documentaries I have seen. The story of a man who lived among bears and foxes in Alaska is more about how the New World is so disgusting that sometimes being away from it and closer to nature is a much happier place. Warning though: graphic material ahead. This should not be seen by children. If it sounds interesting to you, I promise you will never forget seeing it. I sure won't.

It's amazing (and a bit frightening) just how deeply we travel into Timothy Treadwell's extremely complex psyche. He captured some amazing shots, too. Grizzly Man is a chilling at times but always fascinating, and one of the best documentaries I have ever seen.

Incredible character study that is thought provoking and heartbreaking. It's a difficult film, but overall its captivating and is never dull.

The best documentary I've seen in a long time. It's at least the best documentary I've seen while it was released in a movie theater. Nonetheless however, this is a truly remarkable cinematic experience as we go inside the mind of Timothy Treadwell, a man who's obsession with the dangerous Grizzly bear eventually cost he and his girlfriend's life. The film is just so captivating for numerous reasons. The first is the shear beauty of the movie, as we get caught up in the majestic look of the Alaskan landscape. The second is the captivating personality of Timothy Treadwell, as he filmed almost everything he did during the summers he spent in Grizzly country. And finally, the film is just a thoroughly told journey by director Werner Herzog. Films like this are rare as they are great.
