Some people love Philip Glass while others love to hate him. I love am in yhevfuest category. philip Glass has written symphonies and quartets but his contributions to opera and film have brought him the most acclaim. Satayagraha, an opera based on Ghandi's political philosophy, is usually in the top ten operas performed in the world today. His film scores include The Thin Blue Line, Mishima, The Hours and The Truman Show. The landmark film associated with Glass, Koyaniquaatsi, is expected to be released on Blue-ray by Criterion later this year. This movie has many snipets from scores from various periods of Glass's career, therefore a surround sound system will enhance the experience. The film marks the 70th birthday of the man who may very well be the world's greatest living composer.

Good portraits of a well-known contemporary musician indeed. Only if it's without the very suspiciously over-advertised Chi Gung and Tibetan missionary.

Scott Hicks' fascinating new film on Philip Glass ... gives an up-close and very personal view of a man who lives completely inside music.

ver como trabaja un genio, la inspiración que envuelve todas sus creaciones, es conmovedor. un hombre inteligente, interesante y profundamente humilde.
