Simon has such a thick French accent it takes a while to get used to it, just so that you know, but she is a good actress and I liked her in this movie. At first I thought Chatterton was going to be the main character but it turned out to be Simon instead. I really liked the story about the girl who falls in love with her teacher, and I was surprised by the ending. I liked this movie, it was good.

So so. Marshall is good in an undeveloped character. Simon tends to get on nerves. Power brings a bit of life.

This isn't a bad movie, but Ty only appears in it very briefly at the end. When Darryl Zanuck learned that the preview cards indicated that what the audience liked best about the film was "that guy in the last scene" Ty's career took off.
