Rich kid Danny Churchill has a taste for wine, women and song, but not for higher education. So his father ships him to an all-male college out West where there's not supposed to be a female for miles. But before Danny arrives, he spies a pair of legs extending out from under a stalled roadster. Needs more Garland and less Rooney. He's all bad shtick and weird tics, while she gets saddled with an oddball pseudo slo-mo C&W number called "Biding My Time". Also, more Nancy Walker please, but that's always the case.

It was okay-I still have a lot of trouble buying Mickey Rooney as some irresistible ladies' man but Judy is amazing and the Gershwin score is tops. I did not really like the finale which has been praised-I thought it was way over the top even for Berkeley.
