Ghost Town (2009)

Reb Halland, who lives in the era of Wild West, has made a deal with the devil to gain immortality alog with his gang. Preacher McCready is trying to protect the small town by placing five totems around the town in the shape of pinnacle. One day, an collector passes by the town and sees one of the totems pinned to the earth and he decides to take it. When the man takes the totem out of ground Halland and his gang arrives and start killing everyone. The film moves to the present day when a group of college students driving back home from another city after a debate contest suddenly find themselves at this town. Soon they start to be murdered one by one, and it will be up to them to find the secret of this town and destroy Halland and his gang.

This movie is very good. Great story. Great cast. Very good horror scene's.

There are some bad films I watch but this is in the top 5. Very poor actors perform in a low budget film about a bunch of ghost cowboys that come back every 13 years to anyone that enters the village

Another useless SyFy film, this offering is from 2009 and is one of the rebrand's earliest original pictures. Clearly age is obvious, because everything they've made after 2010 has been complete shit.

Ghost Town (Todor Chapkanov, 2009) Billy Drago is one of those actors whose presence in a movie ensures I'll watch it. This can lead to some unfortunate movie choices, most recently Ghost Town, a silly haunted-town flick containing nothing you haven't seen before. Including Billy Drago as a gunslinger. (Think Imprint here.) Plot: five gunslingers, led by Reb Halland (Drago), have made a pact with the devil to gain immortality. They destroy a small town in the old west, then commit suicide. Many years later, a combined college group of hockey players and debate-team members gets lost and ends up in the town, where the ghosts decide to get in some target practice. No, nothing out of the ordinary, and with nothing at all to distinguish it. Most of the acting is awful, the script is silly, the direction wooden. Even getting your Billy Drago fix on isn't worth this mess. *

Ghost Town features a creepy setting and impressive special effects (When you take into account its extremely low budget), unfortunately what drags it down is the poor script, sub-par acting, and those typical "Oh you have got to be fucking kidding me" moments expected in a SYFY channel original movie. Worth a Rental, but nothing more than that.
