Garage Days (2002)

The story of a young Sydney band trying to get a foothold in the competitive world of rock n' roll. After the band's first gig is a colossal failure, the lead singer takes it upon himself to go out and pursue the most successful rock manager in the country. Meanwhile, the other members of the band continue to deal with the kind of everyday life issues that can ultimately tear a band apart. Un film sur un groupe de musique en Australie. C'est mignon, y'a beaucoup de bonnes idees, mais ca n'est pas un chef d'oeuvre. Au suivant.

Loved it! A young Sydney band struggle to get their first break. Very stylishly directed, and very funny (love the accidentally drugged up tea party). And there's one lovely twist at the end.

Strip away the music video-style imagery and eighties-flavored rock soundtrack from Garage Days and you're left with a forced, self-consciously 'wacky' comedy that's more frantic than genuinely funny.

Good flick. Of course it's a little weird guys, it's based in Australia. Fun movie. And, it's more of a reality band movie. Not everyone makes it to the top, and not everyone sounds as good as they seem. Watch it! You won't be disappointed.

Its tricksy stylishness... is more of a distraction than a tonic for the feeling that we've seen all this before.
