Here is Huppert again playing an adulterous wife (La sÃ©paration springs to mind) who leaves her husband only to return a few hours later but seemingly devoid of any remorse. The interaction between husband and wife is incredible and the build up in tension into the inevitable consequences of her affair is truly gripping.

You ill think this is pretentious art trash, better suited for a prolonged perfume commercial. But I actually rather enjoyed the Conrad story. And found the tension of the situation was riveting throughout the movie.
