The more I see films like this, the more I want to go out and drink beers with William Shatner

Shatner was so funny!!!. I loved the Logan's run reference.

An unapologetically campy look at two Star Trek-obsessed best friends living in Los Angeles who encounter a chance meeting with their idol, William Shatner. If not for it constantly poking fun at itself, one might want to do so themselves. Lacking central focus and direction, "Free Enterprise" is still a fun comedy with a few laughs.

Criminally underrated comedy barely got a theatrical release, but has picked up a minor cult following on video and is a must-see for "Star Trek" fans and film geeks in general. There's very little plot to speak of, but never before has a film done a better job at portraying the often painful ordeal of balancing a relationship with interests and hobbies that one is very passionate about. A good showcase for a pre-"Will and Grace" Eric McCormack and a great performance by William Shatner as himself; he balked at the way the original script to portrayed him as a perfect hero, and commendably demanded that the filmmakers showcase him as a flawed, insecure, three-dimensional person who even makes his most devoted fans question his sanity at times.
