Great screenplay and ambitious movie! Put together a little weak but definitely worth watching.

A hard-hitting, ultimately tragic tale of the struggle for identity among Kurdish emigres in urban Germany.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The story and characters are seared into my brain forever. And it's a universal story, shared by millions of refugees and immigrants, legal or not. No frills, no cold blue filter or polarized effect usually employed for such a subject, nor any of the heavy dreariness indie films usually pander to for such a subject either, no sentimentalism, no end message with figures attached, but spirit and dignity in the tragedy of human kind. ABSOLUTELY MUST SEE (I recommend on a sunday night, or on a Tuesday to set you off right for the week).

Shot with such grit that the lenses seem coated with grease, Fratricide offers a myopic impression of an unnamed German city, and that's probably the point, since so much of its territory and opportunities are sealed off from these immigrant characters.
