Follow the Fleet (1936)

When the US Navy fleet docks at San Francisco, sailor Bake Baker tries to rekindle the flame with his old dancing partner, Sherry Martin, while Bake's buddy Bilge Smith romances Sherry's sister, Connie. But it's not all smooth sailing—Bake has a habit of losing Sherry's jobs for her and, despite Connie's dreams, Bilge is not ready to settle down.

If you love Fred and Ginger, this is one of the best. Simple thirties fluff, but wonderfully entertaining. All done with no sex or violence. Just talent.

Fred Astaire as a sailor? Yes, please! Extremely cute, funny (and sometimes sad) movie. I'd never actually heard of this one in the canon of Astaire/Rogers flicks. Lets both Astaire and Rogers show that they can hold their own in comedy. Worth a watch for musical fans, there's really no way to be disappointed by it.
