Fish Story (2013)

J and Jacky are good friends who attend the same school. J is from a single-parent family, and will be taken care by Jacky's family whenever his mother has to return to Mainland to renew her visa; such kind of story is not an isolated case. These families have been uprooted for a "better future" in Hong Kong, but is this "future" that the children really long to have? A Chinese saying: "How does one understand the joy of fish, if one is not a fish?" Will the adults really understand what the children want?

This one's a charmer. A Japanese punk band records a song "Fish Story" in 1975, a year before the Sex Pistols and thirty seven years later it saves the world. How? You'll understand everything crystal clear in the last five minutes, so don't worry about puzzling it out beforehand, just enjoy the scenes jumping between between the 70's, 80's and 90's with characters like the unflappable music shop owner, the meek driver who can't stand up for himself, the prescient teenager, the sleepy schoolgirl and the trained-from-birth Champion of Justice. Hooray for Fish Story!.

Its not every day that you watch a film that leaves you with a permanent mark. Fish Story, is that movie! Is a movie that you would like to watch more that one time, and definitely that is already a remarkable feet. I mean, who's got time nowadays to watch a movie 2ice? Anyway for us this movie is already a cult, and possibly it already is in Japan, made in 2009 and only recently delivered to the UK market. The movie its self speaks of a great apocalyptic happening..THE END OF THE WORLD, and how ordinary people's lives and their ,most often, bad choices end up intertwining in a span of 30 years all together. Shot in a very beautiful, alluring way, the plot unravels following 6 different stories that are all motivated by a Japanese Punk song named FISH STORY by Gekirin We wouldn't really want to delve the movie out for you and spoil the fun, but if you believe that MUSIC CAN SAVE THE WORLD, then definitely watch this film!! Guaranteed!!!
