I'm sick of BritComs pedalling "underdog come good" stories and Faintheart is a particularly silly variant of this "Full Monty" formula. However, there are enough gigglesome moments - all incidental to the plot - to make it enjoyable. I especially liked the kid delivering his PE teacher's bullshit chat up line and the funeral of Odin the Owl.

It's cute enough, and it has Ewen Bremner (lovable as always) and Jessica Hynes, so it's automatically pretty sweet.

Good but not great and one of those where you start thinking of ways it would have gone better or why it wouldn't happen 'like that'... I'll watch anything, it just needs a few saving graces or even one really great moment to make it worth watching, this has several but is still flawed nonetheless, I like Jessica Hines so I'm biased

Full of familiar, if not especially 'famous', British talent this is a thoroughly likeable comedic tale of embarrassing oddballs. Eddie Marsan is, once again, brilliant as the put-upon good guy who doesn't quite fit in with modern life. With great support from the likes of Ewan Bremner, Jessica Hynes and Tim Healy (among many others) this is one low-budget first feature that is a pleasure to watch.
