Eyeborgs (2009)

Following a major terrorist attack, the US government initiates the ODIN surveillance system, made up of millions of mobile, robotic security cameras known as "Eyeborgs." When the physical evidence in a string of odd murders doesn't line up to the surveillance recordings, one federal agent finds himself working outside the system to find out who's really controlling the Eyeborgs.

A believable and intruiging concept, dulled down by cheesy acting and dialogue. Its the thought provokingness of the story however that keeps you hooked.

Eyeborgs influences are painfully obvious, with everything from the writings of Philip K. Dick to the Terminator franchise all but name checked during the film. The sad thing is that this doesn't rise above its B-movie roots which is a shame as the premise is fantastic, its just a shame that the idea is not fully rounded. The films biggest let down is that it appears to be missing the final 20 minutes, its taken an hour and a half for everything to be revealed to the cast and then it just stops. Whether this is for a potential sequel remains to be seen but at present it just feels like an idea thats just not been fully rounded.

This one goes way beyond the usual straight-to-dvd SiFi stuff. The plot is tight, the acting is mostly decent, the cgi does the trick. If you've seen Eagle Eye, you should also see Eyeborgs, even if you disliked the former. Adrian Paul still thinks he's Highlander, but so what.

Well done little indie-scifi flick, gets little boring at some times, but overall not bad. Robots in it are cool!

Robotic cameras in your home, in your room, in your washroom, its as if they need no permission. The president who's dead for years still being shown on television in a debate, robots being programmed to kill people. Misuse of video technology and power provided to a particular company for the country's security is amazingly shown in this movie. A must watch for all science fiction lovers.
