The camara work in this film is amazing though i would bet most people do not like it alot. It was interesting to see this terrible even through the eyes of different students. I can't say enough about this film.

just brilliant. Gus makes a portrait of a small town in which everything that happens is the boring type of things that happen in small towns. I'm from a small town and I totally relate with the dialogs in the movie and I can tell you that small towns have the potential of fabricating this kind of attitud in teens. Homosexuality is hardly ever tolerated and is even harder to be accepted and teens really don't have many activities to enrich their spirits.

Uncompromisingly great. My favorite moment is also one of the most criticized for its apparent randomness: the kiss between the shooters. It felt so genuine and authentic. That's what the film is about: an authentic feel. We don't judge the characters, but we are given great insight into their thoughts

The pacing is quintessential in Elephant and it's utilised perfectly by Van Sant. The subject matter that Elephant features is obviously controversial and daring but as only Van Sant can, he uses it to his advantage to make a truely marvellous yet disturbing watch. The acting is realistic in a film that it needs to be for it to work. I love this film. An instant favourite.
