Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

Major Bill Cage is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and dropped into combat. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an alpha alien down with him. He awakens back at the beginning of the same day and is forced to fight and die again... and again - as physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop.

Great script, great direction! This movie is an excellent example of how execution matters. The premise isn't particularly fresh, but the writing and direction are so good that novelty doesn't really matter. And Cruise is at the top of his game: relaxed and natural. There's never a dull moment in this crowd pleaser. Pop some popcorn and enjoy the ride.

Entertaining and creative. the two leads did a great job. still confused why the aliens seemed like robots but were not.
