Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

Major Bill Cage is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and dropped into combat. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an alpha alien down with him. He awakens back at the beginning of the same day and is forced to fight and die again... and again - as physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop.

I loved this movie. I thought the plot was incredibly intriguing and that action/visuals were outstanding. This movie went way on the radar I feel when it came out, and I just recently saw it. This movie should get more recognition!

Fantastic. Extraordinary. Epic. The best science fiction blockbuster I have ever seen. It's absurd how this movie keeps getting better. This movie felt so good that I was worried that it could get worse in the end. Never before was I more wrong.

This was a great action flick. It repeats at points, but with sufficient variance and comic relief to keep your interest. The cast delivers fine performance's and the action sequences are top notch. This is a fun movie if you like the sci-fi action genre. Even if you don't like Tom Cruise (personally) he has almost never failed to deliver a good performance and pick a good script. He has consistently been at the top of his craft as an actor and been in a long list of blockbusters because of it. This is another success for him, and I hope he keeps them coming.

What a fun and inventive ride of a film. I appreciated the efficiency of the script. It manages to move along at a very brisk pace without any glaring plot holes. The film develops its own form of shorthand to move us from scene to scene as the characters primary goals change. It's nice to be respected as a viewer in terms of remembering key events and callbacks. We know when Cruise has already been somewhere before the film tells us, but the script expects that we know, and then defies those expectations. I love it.
