Even after Crouching Tiger and Brokeback, this is still Ang Lee's best film. Surprises abound at every turn, and you will never see the climax coming. It's a touching and funny story about food, modern life, family, and tradition. Get over the subtitles, you philistines. You don't know what you're missing.

A beautiful movie of food and love. Father's enthusiasm in cooking is really powerful and it is touching to watch how he shows his feelings by cooking. One of the best movies ever.

Totally a foodie movie, I can't get enough of how well this movie was done and find myself saying "OMG, I KNOW THE FEELING!". My only beef is that I can't find an English dub, I don't speak Mandarin or French and sometimes the English sub is too fast. But thats how Mandarin is spoken.

The cooking in the beginning of the film just made me hungry and craving for gourmet food. The three sisters and their father are all lovable, and there are huge character developments even with the minor characters. This film is great drama with some humor. Ang Lee should really do more movies like this.
