A fantastic Wuxia style movie. Many outrageous and entertaining characters, fantastic martial arts battles, and an epic story.

Good Hong Kong movie 90s style. Good plot and great characters. I love this genre of wu xia

Director King Hu makes kinetic use of the widescreen frame: the action is dominated by gonzo knife throwing, and arrow fire has seldom felt so lethal.

The part where Donnie Yen's a fucking eunuch who then gets his leg amputated to the bone is so corny but cool because HE KEEPS FIGHTING.
