Doll Graveyard (2005)

It's 1905 when 12 year old Sophia plays all by herself in her big, creepy house with only four handmade dolls as friends. When her abusive father has finally had enough, he forces her to bury them in the backyard. But, after she "slips" and breaks her neck, dad buries her right along with the dolls. 100 years later, the Fillbrook family moves into the very same house.

Man, Charles Band, what happened to you? Yet another attempt for the Puppet Master series brainchild to try an capitalize on the killer 8 inch action figure genre (since then, he's done a couple of other ones as well). This one centers around a young girl who's abusive father kills her and buries her in the backyard along with her dolls. Fast forward to today about a little kid who is picked on by his older sister and her friends. Naturually, the ghost of the dead girl and the dolls come alive to kill all of the friends in various ways. Pretty campy with loads of bad acting and faulty storylines. How the hell are you going to let a small, stupid doll kill you? Loltastic. Poor Charles Band.

A nerdy teen finds creepy handmade dolls buried in his backyard, but what he doesn't find is the corpse of a murdered child from 100 years earlier who's spirit has now possesses the dolls. The creepy dolls then violently protect the nerdy teen from bullies who crash his older sister's party. Another case of producer/director/writer Band milking his Puppet Master formula of small toys wreaking havoc on regular sized people (i.e. Dollman, Demonic Toys, Dolls, Parasite Dolls, etc.). This one is not up to Dollman or Puppet Master standards, but it is better than "Parasite Dolls."

This is some funny $#!7 here. From the get-go the amazingly dichotomous opening scene immediately points out the ridiculously terrible acting contained within the movie. The dolls are rather terrifying, in their own equally ridiculously terrible way. You know a movie is totally ROFL-worthy when the audience suspects the actors of actually drinking the liquor and smoking the weed as shown in the movie. The premise is totally outrageous (Charles Band himself admits that one of the major plot points only came into fruition days before shooting began) and the only thing that ISN'T predictable is who dies. It is so, so terrible that it is a must-watch for any self-respecting non-serious ROFL-horror-schtick friend group. I personally hope there is a Blu Ray release so I can put it on my shelf next to my Doll Action Figures!
