At its best, director Brewer’s film lounges alongside such movies about moviemaking as “Ed Wood” (written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, who wrote this picture, too) and the more recent but very thin “The Disaster Artist,” about the making of the less interestingly terrible cult item “The Room."

One of my favourite movies of 2019, Eddie Murphy makes a big return to acting as Rudy Ray Moore, embracing the different character traits his roles usually have and ultimately making it one of his best movies in a long time. Definitely a must watch.

It has a loose, friendly, house-party vibe, and it’s impossible not to have a good time watching the actors have a good time with one another. If there’s a problem, it’s that the good humor has the effect of lowering the film’s dramatic stakes, and risks turning its cultural reference points into cartoons.

It’s a comedy but it’s also a pretty good fcking movie. Positive. Uplifting. Dolemite is his name and good fcking movies are his game.

A great comeback for Eddie,cinematic showcasing of the resourceful Rudy Ray Moore,an insight to how he willed himself into stardom.Took a while for Murphy to get me to stop seeing him as Eddie Murphy however, the script eventually prevailed and the dialogue is what i am most intrigued by. It also could be said that there is not necessarily any real adversity overcome by the character,that is however portrayed in the slight disappointments he faces in every four scenes,life does not have to always hit with a knock-out punch it could be a series of jabs as well and that is what the movie sets out to deliver.I like Dolomite. And Wesley Snipes is great in it too.
