Dishonored Lady (1947)

Art editor Madeleine Damian carries on numerous loveless affairs. After a failed relationship with advertiser Felix Courtland, the increasingly depressed Madeleine attempts suicide. When Jack Garet, her secretary and former lover, tries to blackmail her, Madeleine resigns and seeks a reclusive life. Neighbor David Cousins befriends Madeleine, but soon Courtland and Garet discover her whereabouts and disrupt her new life.

good early "feminist{" movie where heddy plays a career woman who sacrifices romance for a career unusual subject matter for forties hollywood.

This movie was good, good acting and basically good plot except it kind of fell apart somewhere in the middle and only just pulled itself through.

A woman tries to start a new life under a new identity, but finds out she can't run away from herself. An interesting, if overdone, theme. This was a good movie anyway.

Solid little drama with Hedy quite effective in the lead. Good supporting cast, how can you go wrong with Lovey Howell and the wicked witch of the west in the same movie! Some of Hedy's costumes are ultra glamorous and she amazingly beautiful.
