Crime drama based on the real-life story of US gangster John Dillinger, who was hunted by the FBI after a string of armed bank robberies during the Great Depression. It has some cheesy moments, such as when Dillinger magically escapes from jail by carving a wooden gun and painting it black with shoe polish. Still, it's a short, effective, and unsentimental film.

Fine little B Movie, but bears almost no resemblance to real life. His gang, the lady in red, etc., are complete figures of the scripter's imagination. Probably would've been better if the main character wasn't Dillinger, but a fictitious gangster. Stick with the superior 1973 version instead.

B-movie quickie, mostly of historical interest, as it was rushed onto screens shortly after Dillinger's death. The grim tone is fine, and Tierney is electric, but it's just a little TOO lean and cardboard cheap for my tastes.

Not at all impressed, some nice framing but otherwise, the narrative thread of th eplot becomes mishmashed like a bowl of potoatos, and after a while, aI just don't care for what's happening or the people.
