Devil's Den (2006)

Quinn Taylor and his friend Nick are on their way back from Mexico with a load of Spanish Fly to sell in the States. They stop at a gentlemen's club called The Devil's Den and decide to test out their product on the unsuspecting women there. Only, these women aren't really human, and the two men find themselves in a very fatal position. Also tossed in are a female-assassin on the hunt for Quinn, a monster hunter!

Kelly Hu is in this movie? Seriously? Wow. I was surprised to see her doing such low-grade work, although overall this movie about killer zombie/vampire-type strippers, drug dealers, assassins, and Japanese swordsmen deliver in the laughs as well as the gore, it is an enjoyable film to watch sometime.

What I thought was going to be a blatant From Dusk Til Dawn ripoff wasn't all that bad. I mean it wasn't original by a long shot and it seemed to take from all three From Dusk Til Dawn movies, but it was still fun to watch. The acting wasn't all that great and the fight scenes were pretty bad at times, but the movie really gets going pretty good from the start. It has some interesting moments. Not sure if this is really for everyone though.

Thursday, December 22, 2011 (2006) Devil's Den HORROR/ COMEDY Conventional lower budget version of "From Dusk Til Dawn" clone which the two are almost identical! Starring Devon Sawa, Kelly Hu and Ken Foree go to strip club down in Mexico, only to confront a bunch of ghouls. The film starts off as a gorefest to a simple minded comedy toward the end, especially the final dual between Hu and the queen of ghouls who for some reason doesn't even call out her ghoul cohorts. Inconsistently convenient and conventional which the director of this film and the producer may have collided! 2 out of 4

You know that Tarantino movie From Dusk Till Dawn? Well, see that instead. This one had ghouls instead of vampires, and this one was not done as well. Really, you miss nothing by not seeing this. There are topless strippers/ghouls, if that matters.
