Deceived (1991)

The murder of a museum curator places art dealer Jack Saunders under suspicion for selling forged treasures to museums. When Jack suddenly dies in a car crash, his wife Adrienne tries to discover what he did on her own. She finds that she knew little about the man she was married to. The more she learns about her husband's possible illegal activities and double life, the more she places her daughter, and herself, in grave danger.

excellent underrated movie where goldie hawn showed a serious side to her talent, i had hoped that that was going to be a change of style for her as i thought both her and john heard who played psycho hubby were great in this movie

Back when Goldie Hawn was one of the top draws in movie making, she had a year when she released three movies - a comedy, a drama and a mystery. This would be the mystery. It is a wonderfully under rated and not oft seen thriller that, slowly, unveils the secrets and STILL manages to keep you breathless. Her work is intense, the film making dark and brooding, John Heard is sexy and mysterious, the score is haunting and clawing. And then there are the New York location shots - Yeah Baby! I will say this: in the 90s when this was released, it was a scary little picture. Now, after some of the scary suspense thrillers that have been made in the last (almost) two decades, people may not be QUITE as apt to be scared by it. But I still am.

It's hard to take Goldie Hawn seriously in... well, serious roles but she is okay in this fairly average suspense thriller.

Not as good as I remember it being 15+ years ago. It looks dated and there is very little mystery in the storyâ??s big revelation regardless of whether Iâ??ve seen the film before. The film portrays Hawn as a strong, independent heroine (although she didnâ??t always make the smartest decisions).
