The murder of a museum curator places art dealer Jack Saunders under suspicion for selling forged treasures to museums. When Jack suddenly dies in a car crash, his wife Adrienne tries to discover what he did on her own. She finds that she knew little about the man she was married to. The more she learns about her husband's possible illegal activities and double life, the more she places her daughter, and herself, in grave danger.

Deceived rests totally on the weight of Goldie Hawn's shoulders and she delivers. There are numerous plot holes in the movie, but Hawn works very well with what she has, and shows that she can more than handle serious drama. John Heard does seem miscast, as he goes from charming to psychotic without ever really establishing what makes his character tick, and why he has done what he did. All in all, a decent movie.

Given these fundamental caveats, Deceived is diverting, if disposable, fun. Director Damian Harris knows how to keep an audience's attention.

This underrated Goldie Hawn thriller is hot stuff. She's the woman with the perfect marriage who uncovers disturbing details about her husband after he dies. All expectations to the contrary, Hawn actually acts here, emitting barely any of her girlish giggles. Though it's never clear why she doesn't just go to the police when things turn nasty, the tension builds nicely throughout, with a superbly tense finale that avoids most of the cliché traps other recent thrillers fall into.

excellent suspense movie about a woman (goldie hawn) who's husband dies and when she goes to claim his social security, it turned out that the social security actually did not belong to her husband, and she has to do research and turns out that her husband is not who she though he was. great movie.

This movie was awesome! It totally creeped me out, although I'm sure the fact that I watched it at 10:30 at night with all the lights out...helped. Goldie Hawn did a fantastic job in this movie . . . I like the fact that her character wasn't totally dependent on all these other people to rescue her, she was very self-dependent but without being annoying.
