The ultimate "feel-good" movie! Yes, of course the plot is nonsense, but so are all fairy-tales, and this is a modern American fairy-tale. The great (and gorgeous!) Kevin Kline was pitch perfect, both as the nice-but-kookie Dave and the corrupt-but-attractive Mitchell. Langella, Dunn and Rhames were superb in support, as was Grodin as the perpetually worried/confused friend. Wasn't so impressed with Weaver, the love interest never worked for me, although the shower scene "I'm talking to you - will you please turn round!" was an absolute hoot! If I'm ever stranded on a desert island, with just a solar-powered DVD player for company, this is the film I would want to have. Wonderful!

The what if scenarios...if the president dies in the bosom of his private secretary, what would you do? Would you tell the first lady? Would you tell the House of Congress? The worst case scenario...pretend all is well...hire an actor who looks and talks like him

I just love this film. it epitomises the whole love will conquer all idea. Particularly great scene involving Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline singing a duet "Tomorrow" from Annie...if I'm having a bad day, I put this film on and it always cheers me up.
