Dark House practically drowns under the weight of mismatched horror tropes, including a preponderance of loud-noise jolt-scares and idiotic character behavior.

Sadly, the only thing audiences are likely to find horrific is the acting. Or the possibility that any of these people might make another movie.

An earnest attempt to make a deep, meaningful film. The first clue that it would fail- when the lead character does a slow cruise around a bar table- touching strangers one at a time to see if each one would die a horrible death. Poor Nick, who's lived with this curse for his whole life nevertheless thinks it's funny to pretend like one guy will die horribly. Yuck, yuck. Then the next guy really will die horribly. Downhill from there.
