KINDA HARD TO FOLLOW THE STORY BUT THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN BECAUSE I ONLY WATCHED THE SCENES WITH RAMI IN IT

It’s a genre-bending mash-up, a non-vampire vampire movie about class, race, love, and cruelty. It consciously seeks to marry its diverse influences in an attempt to present something between schlock and art house, between passionate gore and urbane chill. It contains multitudes, and not always all that well.

An engaging work, one that finds Spike Lee adapting his considerable skills to a new genre. It's not his best movie, but it's definitely one of his most unlikely, and therefore most fascinating.

... an audacious but muddled character study that nevertheless proves the veteran filmmaker can never be easily dismissed.

Top notch film. I have watched this 5 times and every time I discover something new. This is an excellent film that one either gets or one doesn't and I get it. The British actress is absolutely brilliant in it. Love the London accent. Brilliant.
