The movie is dismally organized, his (Keys) interviews are shallow and uninformative, and the project has a whole lacks a strong point of view.

V.A. Musetto 31 Jul 2004

A toe-tapping, booty- shaking look at Cubans' love of music that gets bogged down in political thoughts that go unexplored.

Peter Rainer 28 Sep 2015

Keys takes a scattershot approach to Cuban music, filming not only specific artists, like Los Cohibas and Los Zafiros, but also street musicians in the barrio and just about everywhere else he can find them.

Ken Fox 04 Mar 2005

Even if you think you know a little something about world music, Cuba's cultural riches may come as a surprise.

Laura Sinagra 09 Dec 2015

An odd blend of passionate performance footage and maddeningly shallow analysis of Cuba's music and politics.
