GREAT MOVIE! First time Jesus is portrayed as a Black man. it brings up the possibility of Christ's race being a factor in his horrific treatment. In addition to that, it is written, produced and stared by a brotha. Can't get no better than that!

The single best portrayal of Jesus I've ever seen by an actor, but the single worst Jesus movie I've ever seen. This movie was dull, and uninspiring. But the role of Jesus and his acting were incredible. Worth sitting through just for that.

Though the film's final, disturbing image forces race to the forefront and belatedly raises wider issues of persecution, its most controversial suggestion is not that Jesus might have been black but that he might have been a really terrible actor.
