J. Hoberman 18 May 2014

Loevy, who made this documentary with an Israeli and Palestinian crew, supplies a self-conscious voice-over.

Ronnie Scheib 14 Sep 2009

Israeli filmmaker Loevy questions in voiceover whether one can ever really see the other's side, and the strain of this divide is felt in over-dramatic attempts to highlight individual victims.

Maitland McDonagh 01 Feb 2003

Dave Kehr 05 Aug 2010

The freer and more sophisticated approach of "Divine Intervention" makes these traditional-minded documentaries look somewhat stodgy and old-fashioned by comparison, but both have a value as reportage that Mr. Suleiman's film does not pretend to have.

V.A. Musetto 08 Feb 2012
