While I didn't find much new in the film's girl-girl romantic dynamics, it's setting and social-political commentary are certainly above the norm.

There are superb performances by Iranian-Canadian Nikohl Boosheri as Atafeh, the more rebellious of the two women, and French-born Sarah Kazemy as the less-privileged Shireen.

first time i've seen an Iranian movie that achieved ultimate levels of hotness and creepiness. depressing? of course - it's a Persian film. but the rest was so unexpected in so many ways.

A very intriguing look into the lives of two Iranian women and their hidden desires. Very sensual, very moving, at times slow but very intense and other worldly. Outstanding cast from all over the globe including first-timer to the screen Nikohl Boosheri. Kudos to Writer, Director and EP Maryam Keshavarz for bringing this fine intricate portrait to American audiences. A deeply moving film...

Overall this is an impressive debut from a filmmaker with something to say and the talent to say it.
