Definitely one of a kind Irani movie. I've never seen a Irani movie that was this intense and sexual. The shots and music were great. The two main Charcter did a great job showing their struggle through life and their emotion for one another. The movie dialog falls short at times but it makes up for it on other parts. The story ended up being a bit different that I expected but overall It was satisfying. It's interesting that I speak the language but still had a hard time understanding some of the slangs. And I think the book spoken words didn't work well In the script.

The film doesn't feel weighed down with the burden of representation: It's too free-flowing for that, too plot-heavy, too stylish, too romantic, too hot.

I don't give half stars or else this would be rated higher. It's not an understated film; it's an implicit one. Oppression reigns in this modern Tehran, both sexual and gender. While much is left without explication, very little is left unfelt in this topically and erotically charged indie film.

Keshavarz has cast mostly newcomers with surprisingly effective results, especially the gorgeous Kazemy, whose somber beauty and quiet focus give her character the gravitas she deserves.
