This musical is a great satire to the world we live in. I would say it shows the insolence of the respected. I think Rob Marshall incorporated admirably Bob Fosse's vission and choreographies of his original broadway musical. The use of Roxie's point of view as the transition element between the numbers was a very clever approach to glue it all together. Genius!

I love this film adaptation. It's my dream to someday see it on the stage but for now I will enjoy this.The music stays with you long after the closing credits and the choreography is amazing to watch. The raw talent and emotion of John C. Reilly is worth the price of admission alone. Queen Latifah steals every scene she's in and Catherine Zeta-Jones more than deserved the oscar she got as best supporting actress.

This is likely the best musical I have seen. Chicago is a good Broadway musical but the movie is actually even better (nearly impossible to do)! The cast is so talented and well suited for their roles. Rene Zelleweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones deliver the performance of their careers and did an amazing job with their singing, dancing and acting. The music is great and the visuals were a perfect artistic complement that enhance the songs and immerse the viewer in the 1920s Chicago setting or into Roxyâ(TM)s imagination. This movie is so easy to love; it captures the all the fun and visual spectacle of the play and has a perfect multitalented cast.

It always hard to adapt a musical to the big screen and it doesn't always work. But there are a few times, where it actually works pretty well, and one of those were with the musical "Chicago." This is one of my personal favorites and one of the best musical-adapated movies ever made. Rob Marshall is really a great director when it comes to these kind of movies and he does a phenomenal job with both the direction and the choreographies. Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones are amazing in this movie and they really deserve all the praise they got, but one who didn't get enough praise for his performance was Richard Gere. Gere is perfect in the role of Billy Flynn and every time I watch the movie, he continues to amaze me. The fact that he wasn't even nominated for an Academy Award is beyond my knowledge.
