This Herzog film is a masterpiece of documentary filmaking but much more in Herzog's hands and spellbinding tour through these caves. Having been recently through Carlsbad Caverns and Karchner caves, the more pristine of the two in the USA west, I was staggered by the beauty of this cave that may be off limits for others. Sad but necessary to preserve such inner beauty.

If you have the chance to see this in the pictures then go. My first 3D movie at times it was a fantastic effect in relation to the caves others no need for it. Awe inspiring one minute hilarious the next & the Q&A that followed with Herzog was brilliant when the great man spoke & in particular when discussing his next film about death row!

This was a really interesting documentary from a man who is a master filmmaker - Werner herzog. How informative and contemplative this is WOW !! the 3D actually works here for a change. It was shot on a very small mobile camera so as not too damage anything inside the cave. Drawing's date back as far as 30,000 yrs ago !!! They are so life like and well detailed it's astonishing. It really is the start of painting and also of art itself too. i have to say Herzog comes out with some very funny statement's and observations in this but that's the way he does this type of film. Very highly recommended !!!

Werner Herzog should be applauded for his story telling, ability to shoot a movie in unimaginable conditions, and ability to give long people a voice.
