Border Blues (2004)

Moscow police detective Andrei Somov resigns and immigrates to the US, but has to accept a menial job in a restaurant while his adolescent son and pregnant daughter-in-law are denied exit visas. 'Andy' does however get to know some LAPD cops after volunteering his expertise and Russian language skills and is sent to Tijuana to fetch cheap tiles. On that Mexican journey, Somov bumps into Larry, another ethnic Russian but US citizen who lost his daughter years ago and now helps families to illegally enter the States. Meanwhile, the medium Michael March receives a vision about a mad bomber who targets pharmaceutical companies and gets a bad feeling upon holding an envelope that belongs to Larry.

6.5/10. A low budget film, but also a well made one. Sensitive direction, well defined characters that aren't predictable. The cast is good. The story was interesting. Worth watching.

well umn just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good movie 2 watch...its got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie....i think that eric roberts, erik estrada, gary busey play good roles/parts throughout this movie.....i think that the director of this made -for - tv/drama/thriller movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect thorughout this movie....its a good movie 2 watch n its an enjoyable movie 2 watch with a good cast throughout

Terrible editing, over-the-top acting and a stroryline that doesn't always make sense - it all adds up to a pretty bad film but for some reason it does have an endearing quality about it.
