Blueberry (2004)

U.S Marshal Mike Donovan has dark memories of the death of his first love. He keeps peace between the Americans and the natives who had temporarily adopted and taken care of him. The evil actions of a white sorcerer lead him to confront the villain in the Sacred Mountains, and, through shamanic rituals conquer his fears and uncover a suppressed memory he would much rather deny.

A western with shamanic elements, visually breathtaking and unusual. Rather obscure in its symbolism. Those who know will get it...

Part cowboys and indians, part drug-induced fantasy with Vincent Cassel looking like a young Clint Eastwood. Beautiful, great actors, weird story; what exactly was the point of it all? Psychedelic drugs get you to the other world, where Juliette Lewis is naked?

Au debut je faisais autre chose en mÃªme temps donc ca m'a prit un moment a captÃ© car au debut ca file un peu vite. Mais je crois qu'il y a dans ce film un concept unique, je sais pas de combien Ã©tait le budget effet spÃ©ciaux mais il y en avais un max a cause des moments de trances hehe. Bon film.

Slightly off point, but still enjoyable. The CGI and other fx really bring some of the "spiritual journey" parts of the film out in a way that I have never seen done before...very scary in some instances. This was also a very beautiful film, with some cuts to the likes of Leone. you can tell this film was influenced by his films. The downfall...is the sort of bad acting and slow moving story. It definitely could have been a lot shorter and a lot better in that sense. Basically, it got a little too pretentious. Good film, but could've been a lot better in the hands of another director.
