The film is quite entertaining in its own right and Nolte does give it a tremendous boost.

how can i not like this film (have you seen my profile) for real though one of my alltime favourite players anfernee hardaway is in this along with shaq great film one i can watch over and over

My favorite all time movie because it has the perfect mix that any good sports movie should have. It has the A-Hole coach who is a good guy and heart and wants to win right. It has the crappy actors who basically play themselves as basketball players, but because you wouldnt believe a basketball player can act, they convince you they really are players. Third, there is a great villain played by the late, great J.T. Walsh. He is the slime bag with whom everyone knows somebody just like him and they all think that guy is a dick too. And last, but not least, there is a great moral center of the story, which of course comes full circle with a great speech at the end of the movie. Ohh yeah, and Al Bundy is in it too!!!

A great cast, decent story line and great writing make this movie quite enjoyable for myself as a basketball fan. I'm surprised there haven't been similar such plot lines. The film is well acted. Even Shaq and Penny seem to know what they were doing. Cameos from Bob Knight and Larry Bird make it more believable.

The fact the movie was really honest about college basketball and the classes they make some of these inner city retards take, makes the movie awesome. I don't really like Nick Nolte, unless he's infront of the camera getting his mug shot (which is classic), but yeah watching SHAQ act dumb and take a class called TV and fail made me sooooooooooo very happy
