if one can suspend the disbelief that a relatively attractive teacher prefers 'kids' to people her own age and eventually getting hurt by the younger kiddo (well there were some other hard-to-believe loopholes really) , then this one actually ain't as painful as it looked. in fact, it was kinda a guilty pleasure to watch.

Starts promisingly but is ultimately compromised by its characters' shifting allegiances and alliances. Too much of the film is hard to swallow...(Writer-director Fernanda) Cardoso may need to get back to basics academically.

The conclusion is a letdown but in general this is a well-made lesbian movie that deserves some praise for (mostly) avoiding cliches. McAtee and Stouffer have great chemistry and their ever-changing dynamic is entertaining to watch. Bloomington isn't perfect but it's a nice surprise in a summer void of anything so daring.
