Blondie Goes to College (1942)

Dagwood Bumstead must receive a college diploma or lose his job with the Dithers Construction Company. Not wishing to be separated from her husband, Blondie enrolls in college as well. But Leighton College rules stipulate "No Married Couples", forcing Blondie and Dagwood to pretend that they're not married. This causes quite a dilemma when coed Laura Wadsworth begins flirting with Dagwood and Rusty Bryant does the same with Blondie. And Blondie's discovery of a very pleasant secret threatens to expose her and Dagwood's marital status too.

One of my Favorite Blondie episodes where they both go to school & others flirt with them while they must pretend not to be married

Good, but not great, Blondie vehicle here as Dagwood has a brilliant idea that he and Blondie should return to college, and Baby Dumpling go to military school Hijinx insues. Some amusing scenes, but somewhat of a chore to sit through.. Lovely ending though.

This was quite fun, though very improbable, as Dagwood feels the great urge to take a break from work and go to college for the first time, both to further his education in industrial engineering, to aide his work for the Dithers Construction Company, and to enlist in football, baseball and track. He further convinces Blondie to do likewise, and it's a very enjoyable diversion for fans of the period.

GOOD, BUT NOT ONE OF THE BEST ENTRIES IN THE SERIES. OF COURSE, AS ALL THE BLONDIE FILMS, IT IS ENJOYABLE. PENNY SINGLETON AND ARTUR LAKE ARE BOTH GREAT, AS ALWAYS.
