Black Dragons (1942)

It is prior to the commencement of World War II, and Japan's fiendish Black Dragon Society is hatching an evil plot with the Nazis. They instruct a brilliant scientist, Dr. Melcher, to travel to Japan on a secret mission. There he operates on six Japanese conspirators, transforming them to resemble six American leaders. The actual leaders are murdered and replaced with their likeness.

It's Bela Lugosi killing people for an hour. In the last five minutes we learn the story. They were trying to be inventive. It ended being confusing and pointless. But if you're a Lugosi fan, go for it.

A Bela Lugosi spy suspense movie. I really enjoyed it. Much more than I thought I would. Murder and intrigue.

Cloak & dagger "B" movie notable for two actors best known as the fictional characters of Dracula and the Lone Ranger. The final half hour increasingly stretches the plot beyond believably, but is interesting in that the adage "the enemy of my enemy is still my enemy". This film was released several months after the US declared war on Germany & Japan - and introduced the idea that the axis were not working together.

Bela Lugosi is the man, but this isn't all that good. I think the main issue was the order in which information is presented. I had no idea the people being killed were FBI agents until the ending flashback, and ever that was hard to follow. A mish-mashed movie of disorder, but entertaining enough. I guess.
