Black Dawn ressemble beaucoup plus à un épisode lambda de NCIS qu'au premier épisode des aventures de Jonathan Cold (The Foreigner), ce qui est une réelle progression dans la filmographie malade de Steven Seagal depuis son passage dans le monde obscur des DTV. Plutôt compétent dans sa mise en scène et surtout dans ses scènes d'action, avec un scénario pas plus bête que divertissant et des acteurs corrects (mention spéciale à Timothy Carhart & Tamara Davies), Black Dawn est un des rares bons films avec Seagal depuis 2002. Fortement dispensable, certes, mais pas forcément regrettable.

This is very standard Steven Seagal stuff, so fans may enjoy it, however it's very low-budget and it shows.

Say what you want about Steven Seagel movies what you want. But at least they don`t have Wesley Snipes doesn`t bang generic white chick in them. We had an lesbian Arab muslim terrorist in Flight of fury before, now there are nordic looking/baltic looking "muslim" terrorists in this one. Steven Seagal keeps fighting those stereotypes.

Why was a sequel made to "The Foreigner?" Even as Seagal's direct-to-video excursions go it was pretty lame. Here's a fun game: instead of counting the number of times you can see an obvious stuntman doing Seagal's fights, count the number of times you can see Seagal doing ANY of his own fighting. You'll have to watch pretty close.

How could i possibly like this? Well he's a terrible actor and the scripts are always poor, but i just can't help but admire how cheesy and stupid it is.
