I first was taken back by the critics reviews and then I saw that there were many good reviews by people who actually saw "Birth of the Dragon". Since i am a Bruce Lee fan I decided to go see it. Glad I did! It was a fun film with great fight sequences. The film looked great and knowing that this was not a Bruce Lee Documentary I found it quite enjoyable. The audience was also into it so so much for the critics! I would recommend anyone who likes Bruce Lee and Kung Fu go see it.

We need to understand that Birth of the Dragon is fictional instead of a biopic of Bruce Lee. It needs to be views like one of those movies in the "Ip Man" series. After the film has been edited to its finished version, it is much better than the first trailer that appeared last year. The white guy is only a comic relief and he helps to weave the fabric of the plot together, the lead role is Philip Ng, who is a perfect fit to play Bruce Lee. Philip Ng is a well know martial arts actor and director in Hong Kong, with similar background to Bruce Lee. Ng can act and has the swift and powerful martial arts skills that would not disappoint Bruce Lee's fans. Give this film a chance, you won't be disappointed either.

Very entertaining. This is not a biopic about Bruce Lee so don't go in expecting that. But it was created based off the story of a fight that many claim made Lee into the legend we know. Philip Ng is excellent as Bruce Lee and Xia Yu is great as Man. But only Bruce Lee and Wong Jack Man know the true events from 53 years ago... so just go in expecting to have fun movie. The climax fights are solid. I would like to see more action/comedy with Philip Ng and Xia Yu.
