Behind the locked doors of a mental institution resides crooked politico Judge Drake, free from prosecution so long as he pretends to be crazy. To get the goods on Drake, private detective Ross Stewart has himself committed to the asylum as a patient. Meanwhile, reporter Kathy Lawrence, posing as Stewart's wife, acts as his liaison to the outside world.

A fine example of the genre of a sane man going undercover, getting unjustly locked up, as a patient in a mental institution.

Série-b bem nutrido de vitaminas pulp e noir é espectacularmente eficiente no modo como desenvolve a sua história de um infiltrado no manicómio (e isto quinze anos antes de "Shock Corridor"). Budd Boetticher nunca foi um realizador muito considerado, mas aqui demonstra que sabe guiar uma boa trama tendo como veículo o igualmente incansável Richard Carlson. De resto, qualquer filme em que Tor Johnson aplique uns bons socos merece uma estrela a mais só por isso.
