El director Atom Egoyan hace una denuncia en su cinta "Ararat", acerca del genocidio arnenio, llevado a cabo por los turcos en 1915. Hasta el dia de hoy, dicho genocido, que se llevo la vida de mas de un millon y medio de personas, ha sido negado por el gobierno turco. Agoyan rodea esta denuncia en un complejo film que trata sobre la creacion de unaÂ´pelicula sobre el genocidio, la relacion de una madre con su hijo, quien a su vez es amante de su hermanastra y sobre un hombre que trabaja en una aduana y que debe tolerar que su hijo sea homosexual. Estas tres historias se entrecruzan gracias a sus personajes y varias ideas sobre el perdon, la tolerancia y el odio. Adavid Alplay parece un clon de Elijah Wood (o mejor de Frodo) y es quiern debe asumir todo el peso de la historia, el cual es mas que abrumador.

Great movie. I knew about the Armenian genocide before I watched it, but I learned a lot from this movie regardless. More people need to see this damn it.

Just about all of the film is confusing on one level or another, making Ararat far more demanding than it needs to be.
