Cinematography that constantly pulls you in. A story that doesn't lose pace. And a underlining narrative of mental health and opioid crisis that is still very real today. Even if you are not a surfer and don't know the big names through this documentary it will move you to tears. A relatable story that draws you into a character unseen by the publics eye during his awesome reign of touring.

A powerful, in-your-face masterpiece. 'Andy Irons: Kissed by God' embodies everything we need to know on the struggle between talent and mental illness. An intelligently constructed and transcendental film which is simply awe-inspiring.

So Clearly, I Have A Love Of Surfing That Drove Me To Watch This..But I Would Recommend It Be Watched By Anyone & Everyone, Young & Old, It Focuses Not Only On Surfing, But Mental Health & The Emotional Connection Anyone Can Have To The Ocean. It Deals With Incredibly Raw Issues & Brings To Light The Pressure Of Surfing Professionally & How Much Trust In Others You Need To Support You When The Stress Of Living Up To Big Dreams Becomes Too Much. It Is A Sad & Uplifting Story All At Once. I Highly Recommend This As You Will Be Left Thinking About What Happened To A Fantastic Man, Accidentally Alone, In A Miami Hotel..Long After It Finishes.

From the trailer, it's obvious it's going to be a good film. I liked everything about it, but wish there were more footage of Andy laughing or joking around or being goofy like he was a lot of the times I'm sure. And also more surf footage of Andy just ripping. There should be a bonus extra video or director's cut in the future hopefully. But either way, I'm biased because I'm an avid surfer myself and grew up watching Andy in contests and surf videos before the internet. I hope his son grows up to be a world champion surfer who is drug-free.
