American Perfekt (1997)

Criminal psychiatrist, Jake Nyman is taking a much needed vacation from responsibility. An experimental road trip during which ever decision will be made on a flip of a coin. Meanwhile, Sandra Thomas, disenchanted professional, is en route to pick up her flunked out sister, Alice, at a cheap motel before continuing on to visit their ailing mother. After being forced off the road by a mysterious assailant, however, Sandra is picked up by Jake, who's coin flipping amoral attitude quickly excites her own desire to break a few rules. Or worse. Jake and Sandra's romance is soon driven by chance acts of crime and kindness, all governed by the flip of a coin - at least until Sandra mysteriously disappears and Jake unwittingly picks up her suspicious sister, Alice ...

bahahahhaha everyone should see this. one of the best worst movies ever made. but seriously, no country for old men totally stole the coin flip idea from this.

A strange independent thriller in which drifter Robert Forster travels the Midwest making all his decisions by the toss of a coin. The plot owes a little gratitude to Luke Reinhardt's cult novel The Dice Man, and though this film is nowhere near as clever as that piece of fiction, it is still reasonably entertaining, with decent performances.

Pretty decent thriller which also happens to feature full-frontal nudity from Robert Forster!

Fun killer-thriller with strong performance from Robert Forrester, which will make you wonder why he doesn't appear in more movies, particularly when this sort of film is made approx every ten seconds. Rarely does Paul Sorvino seem this engaged.

The film fell too quickly into the serial-killer mode and lost the edge it never had but always wanted.
