Amazing Love (2012)

Teen friends, Steve, Carrie, Cooper, and Gameboy embark on a weekend camping trip lead by their church youth group leader Stuart and his wife Beth. Joining them is an outsider Ashley, a self-involved rich kid, whose attitude causes a major commotion within the group, specifically between her and Carrie. Before it gets too out of hand though, Stuart takes this opportunity to share with the kids the incredibly powerful biblical story of Hosea; a story of immovable faith, impeccable commitment, and impervious love.

Good movie. I enjoyed how it taught Hosea and how much God love's.

A heavy-handed faith based drama which is much more the story of Hosea than the story taking place in the present with the youth group. Aside from Astin, who is always brilliant, the acting is below average. However, you can't expect Oscar winning performances from an indie movie with merely a million dollar budget. I'm unsure of what the director was trying to accomplish here: if it was to entertain it barely passes; if it was to convert non-believers, I don't believe it worked.

Amazing movie. The Book of Hosea is one the most complex descriptions of God´s love to Israel and mankind in general, and a very solid resume of our own modus operandi towards the Lord. The movie is a cool, safe, and well crafted retelling of the narrative of prophet Hosea.
