Ah Boys to Men 4 (2017)

The fourth addition to the franchise sees the return of the army boys including Sergeant Ong, Lobang, Ken Chow and Aloysius, joined by a new female officer, as they are called back for in-camp training under the Armoured Formation of the Singapore Armed Forces. Not as funny as compared to the 1st movie.

The storyline defied logic so much that I'm surprised it even got made in the first place. The same goes with the cringe-worthy lines and the forced camaraderie scenes. But having said that, as an Armour Infantry trooper, I sat through all this quite happily. Hate him if you will, but Jack Neo doesn't pretend to deliver anything more than a crass crowd-pleaser these days - and that, he has fulfilled. In fact, I got to thank him for making a movie that ennobles and pays homage to my army days!

... the plot is choppy and the jokes lose out to the last three films.

The movie is still worth the money. But some parts are really cringey and there are too many advertisements.
